GROWING AND EXPANDING
Imagine a Christian community school supported by faith-based community members, the local businesses run by believers, the local churches, and the local government. As you try to picture this Christian school, visualize schools for primary, intermediate, middle, and high school students. The school would be on a campus that supports a comprehensive K-12 program. As the educational focal point of the faith community in Castle Rock, the school would attract Christian families who want the best learning environment for their children. The vision is to build a Christian community school where people of faith gather to learn, have fellowship, and encourage each other to be kingdom builders. The school’s purpose is to provide academic excellence within a transformative and nurturing environment. We believe that love, unity, and real community are the keys to real change when they are rooted in the foundation of Christian-based values. We have a group of servant leaders who will help students understand their identity in Christ while developing a passion for learning. We will do this by creating a safe environment where students can experience and discover their God-given destiny.
QUALITY CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
Partnering with Christian families, we provide a Christ-Centered Education in a learning environment designed to equip students to become transformational servant leaders.
- Partnership: CRCA builds partnerships with parents in the educational and spiritual development of their children.
- Christ-Centered Education: CRCA Staff and leadership aspire to examine everything we study through the lens of scripture, resulting in the knowledge that leads to wisdom.
- Learning Environment: CRCA Educators strive to create a real and relevant learning environment where students make connections to the curriculum with their head, heart and hands.
- Leadership: CRCA Students matriculate through their years at school, equipped to make an impact on society.
14 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE
CRCA began more than 14 years ago as a ministry of The Rock church, and was founded by Pastor J.R. Polhemus. He was inspired by Isaiah 54:13, “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.” and felt called by God to open the first Christian school in the area. Today we continue to fulfill Pastor JR’s Vision by building a comprehensive K-12 Christian School.
OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL
A MESSAGE FROM DR. JAMES CALHOUN
Welcome to Castle Rock Christian Academy, CRCA.
Now more than ever, our society needs a new generation of leaders equipped to face the many complex challenges in a world filled with immorality and evil. At CRCA, we build a school climate and culture that will nurture and support students as they gain the knowledge and wisdom needed to be successful. The essential part of our work is to create a Christ-centered educational environment. We recognize that there are Biblical truths that reinforce the character and leadership developments of our students. Our curriculum supports learning and reinforces the importance of our unalienable rights: life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Finally, we believe in a personalized learning environment that honors each child’s unique gifting, stimulates curiosity, develops critical thinking, and fosters lifelong learning. As you prayerfully consider the educational options for your child(ren), we hope you can connect with our mission + vision and join the Warrior Family.

MANY REASONS TO CHOOSE CRCA
Understanding that God made each child unique, our teachers are passionately dedicated to meeting each student’s needs. The small class size at CRCA ensures every child is known and loved.
Teachers work with their students to instill the pursuit of excellence in and out of the classroom. Preparing students for the future includes mastery of the curriculum as well as opportunities for Christian leadership.
The fantastic teachers and staff of CRCA
Our faculty represents more than 120 collective years of teaching experience. Their focus is on the academic, spiritual, and physical growth of each student. Our low teacher-student ratio allows each teacher to evaluate the student’s needs, facilitate in one-on-one or small-group settings, and encourage each child to grow to their full potential.

CAMPUS & FACILITY
INFORMATION REGARDING OUR SCHOOL CAMPUS
CRCA enjoys a rural setting, located on more than 53 acres on the west side of the Meadows in Castle Rock. Multi-purpose room for Chapel and PE, a Music and Tech classroom, cafe, and unique indoor play park represent our indoor facilities. Outside, our students are able to enjoy a fenced playground as well as a grass play-field surrounded by open space.
State of the art classrooms: All classrooms are fully equipped for academic success. Upper level classrooms have interactive whiteboards, projectors and grade level appropriate resources. Separate classrooms for Music and Technology as well as a library, give every student the opportunity to explore beyond our core content. Every classroom also has an attached restroom.
Safety: Every student’s safety is a priority at CRCA. Only one entrance is available during school hours and is accessed by visual identification through the Office. Every classroom is also monitored via cameras with a composite display screen in the school lobby. Monthly emergency drills are practiced and every staff member is First Aid and CPR certified.
Custom play park and playgrounds: Inside the South wing is the Ark, a custom-made indoor play park based on Noah’s Ark, complete with slides, climbing ladders, and tunnels and is monitored via video cameras. In addition to the rural setting and acreage, a fenced playground, and a grass field are adjacent to the school’s South wing.
Security: At CRCA we take security seriously with our locked front door, cameras in every classroom, and staff trained in all possible emergency situations including CPR and FIrst-Aid certified.
