TEACHING STUDENTS

We treat students as individuals, meeting their needs, and creating an encouraging learning environment.

PRESCHOOL

Castle Rock Christian Academy Preschool provides young children with a safe and loving environment to explore and grow spiritually, emotionally  and cognitively. We prepare them for the next level at CRCA. Preschool hours are from 8am until Noon.

Our curriculum  is designed to provide active learning experiences in a Christian environment. In the classroom teachers follow thematic units and implement  Learning without Tears, Zoo Phonics and Disciple Land.

Wee Warriors is our 2 year, 6 month program. Students need to be 2 years, 6 months by the first day of school to qualify. Preschoolers need to be 3 years old by October 1 and potty trained to qualify for Preschool. Students need to be 4 years old and potty trained for Pre-K.

ELEMENTARY

We have a small teacher-student ratio in our multi-level classroom which provides a variety of learning opportunities. All students have classes in Bible, Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Spelling, and Grammar), Math, Science, History, and Art. Music and Technology classes are offered four times/week and PE is scheduled twice/week.

Curriculum: Our goal is to present all academics through the lens of God’s Word. To meet this goal, we have selected up to date curriculum from Christian publishers, depending on the grade level:  ABeka, Concordia, Deep Roots (Bible), and ACSI. We also use Art in Action, Technology Without Tears and (check Upper Learning Center Math).

Our school follows a six-year curriculum review cycle so that we can evaluate strengths of the current textbooks, assess outcomes from standardized test scores, and research publishers that will best meet the needs of our students. In addition to our academic offerings, we also have electives which includes Art, Technology, Music, and PE.

Chapel: All students begin our school week in Chapel on Monday morning where they participate in worship and then listen to a message given by the Pastoral staff, guest speakers, or our faculty.
